In response to a petition, Supreme Court issued a notice to Centre and 6 other states regarding cow vigilantism. Supreme Court bench has asked Rajasthan government to reply in three weeks on Alwar incident.
The top court has issued a notice to Uttar Pradesh, Karnataka and Jharkhandn Rajasthan, Gujarat, and Maharashtra, and asked for a thorough reply on Alwar issue in which Khelu Khan was beaten to death by cow vigilantes.
As per the reports, Pehlu Khan was a dairy agriculturalist and also he had legal receipts for transporting the cattle from Jaipur Municipal Corporation. He was said to be a smuggler by cow vigilantes who killed him brutally.
