For one world to live, the other must die. And the ‘other’ here are the humans, who face the risk of losing their planet and their existence. Transformers: The Last Knight has successfully created its own mythology, wherein it delves into the past to trace the history of the first transformers on earth. It shows how the two species once shared common interests, one of which was to defeat evil. The movie utilizes popular topics such as secret societies and weaves it in the core story to make it more interesting, intriguing and believable for the audience. The movie also delves into gray areas to show that heroes can become evil too, when it comes to their survival.
The movie tells the story that the first transformers on earth helped King Arthur win the battle against evil. The transformers had given a magical staff to wizard Merlin, and this staff holds the power of creation. Planet Cybertron is now decaying and in an effort to save it, the planet’s evil queen starts to bring it closer to earth. Cybertron wants the magical staff and for that it is willing to wipe out all of humanity. It’s now up to a few brave men and women to save planet earth and the entire humanity from the evil forces of the universe. Cade (Wahlberg) leads from the front in this battle to save the planet, and he is supported by Vivian (Haddock), who is the only person who can yield the staff, as she is the lone surviving descendant of Merlin.
The story is quite intriguing and thought-provoking, and it’s something very unique, as compared to the earlier movies in the Transformers franchise. Transformers continues to amaze with its VFX mavericks, although not sure if it can hold its allure, as it tends to get boring after a while, especially after so many movies.
Transformers: The Last Knight has all the action and thrills to keep you glued to your seat throughout the movie. If you love the Transformers franchise, you would surely want to watch this one.
