Thursday, April 6, 2016: Trio World Academy recently celebrated Francophonie – the season celebrating the language of French, with a daylong event at the school premises. The idea of the event was to give the students a complete French experience, where the students celebrated the language and culture keeping in mind the francophonie season. The students were seen participating in the French grammar and vocabulary games organized at the event and playing the rhythms of French music and indulging in French food.
The day witnessed several events that touched upon every aspect that can be associated with French. This included the French cinema which is well known to be an important aspect in portraying the French culture and also famous for introducing the ‘French new wave’ to the world of cinema. French cuisine, also known as ‘The world intangible heritage’ by UNESCO was introduced to the children through kiosks at the event. General knowledge related to French and francophone countries were also included in the extravagant event.
The students also showcased their talent and enthusiasm to famous numbers of renowned French artists. Pirouette Cacahuète’ a well known song was performed by the primary students, while the middle and high school children sang to the tunes of ‘on ecrit sur les mur’ and shook a leg to a famous number ‘Elle me dit’.
The fun filled day concluded with mouth watering authentic French bites at the Boulangerie (a bakery) with croissants, pain aux raisins, pain au chocolate, cookies and others from the Kiosks of Café Noir. To give a complete culinary experience a live crêpe counter was also made available at the event.
