Trump mocked federal investigators in his tweet

The US President Donald Trump mocked federal investigators for making up a “phony collusion with the Russians story”.

There are reports that Robert S. Mueller III, the special counsel, is looking into whether Mr. Trump tried to obstruct justice in the case. The special counsel has requested for three interviews with current or former senior intelligence officials. It is seen that the interview is a step towards trying to prove if the President sought their help in trying to get James B. Comey, the former F.B.I. director, to end an investigation into Michael T. Flynn, the former national security adviser.

Mr.Mueller is also seeking documents from the NSA that are related to the agencies interaction with the White House on the Russia Investigation.

The moves clearly tries to aim at proving that the president tried to influence the Russia investigation through conversations he had with Mr. Comey, whom he ultimately fired, or with other officials.

Mueller is leading the Russian probe after being appointed by Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein in the Department of Justice, which oversees the Federal Bureau of Investigation. Last week, former FBI Director James Comey told Congress he believes he was fired by Trump to undermine the agency’s Russia probe.

Earlier the President had tweeted “They made up a phony collusion with the Russians story, found zero proof, so now they go for obstruction of justice on the phony story. Nice,”.

It is been reported unofficially that Mr.Mueller is investigating Trump for possible obstruction of justice.
