In a major blow to US President Donald Trump’s executive order of travel ban on seven Muslim countries, around 97 major tech firms including Facebook, Uber, Twitter, and Google have legally challenged the order in courts.
An amici curiae brief which categorically states that the executive ban violates the existing immigration laws as well as the constitution of the US was presented before the courts.
The US immigration policy has always indicated that the US is descended from immigrants, at the same time it , welcomes new immigrants and is a home for refugees.
On Friday, the US District Court Judge James Robart crashed Trump’s hope of implementing the ban and denied the ban.
The technology firms in US have been vocal about the executive order and have approached the courts in this regards.
