Dr David Dao, 69 who was recently dragged out compulsorily by the overbooked United Airlines flight in order to accommodate the airlines staff for the next day duty has received a settlement amount from the airlines which is termed as “Confidential” by his lawyers. The flight in question was between Chicago to Louisville, Kentucky
United boss Oscar Munoz “said he was going to do the right thing and he has”, Dr Dao’s lawyers said.
The airlines was in the news for all the wrong reasons recently starting with this incident which was recorded live by the co-passengers who has uploaded the incident on social media which drew worldwide irk tat had also reflected in its share value in the FTSE and other stock exchanges and few days back a giant bunny which travelled on the airlines died which had also brought more limelight to the airlines for all the wrong reasons.
Dr Dao’s lawyer, Thomas Demetrio, said his client “has become the unintended champion for the adoption of changes which will certainly help improve the lives of literally millions of travellers”.
Dr Dao suffered concussion, a broken nose, and lost his two front teeth. United Airlines said now the airlines would offer upto USD10,000 for those who are giving up their seats voluntarily.
