- The face of developing Uttar Pradesh

Akhilesh Yadav became the Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh (UP) on March 15, 2012. He is a member of the Samajwadi Party (SP), which is led by his father, Mulayam Singh Yadav. Since the time Akhilesh has assumed office of the Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh, he has focused exclusively on the State’s development, which includes improvement of various sectors such as the State’s economy, administration, law & order, education, health services, public works, infrastructure, water & electricity, employment, agriculture, industrial development, etc. Akhilesh Yadav can be credited with launching a development-oriented program in UP. This is a pioneering initiative since the State’s political landscape has earlier been driven mainly by caste politics.
