Stepping up the focus on development in the state, UP Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath will be meeting a delegation of top US-based companies. The meeting is scheduled for tomorrow and it will involve discussions about various investment options in the state. A total of 26 US firms will be taking part in the meeting. The event has also been given a tagline – “US in UP”. The delegation of US companies is led by aircrafts maker Boeing. The meeting will be held under the aegis of US-India Strategic Partnership Forum (USISPF). One of the primary missions of USISPF is to create strong partnerships with US companies and promote bilateral trade. The objective is also to create useful opportunities that can benefit the local economy and its people.
The ‘US in UP’ initiative is something similar to the ‘Vibrant Gujarat’ project and it would seek collaboration with US companies in various sectors such as gems, cement, chemicals, pharmaceuticals, textiles, and engineering sectors. The delegation of US companies has already done its homework and it has realized that there is tremendous investment potential in Uttar Pradesh. Prime Minister Narendra Modi had earlier discussed such possibilities during his tour of the United States. The meeting will have representatives from top US companies such as Facebook, Adobe, Coca Cola, MasterCard, Monsanto, Uber, Honeywell, P&G, Oracle and GE Health, besides Pratt & Whitney, Merck, Medtronic, Azure Power and Cargill.
