Uttar Pradesh police two days after the gang-rape of mother and daughter in front of family members in Uttar Pradesh’s Bulandsahr have claimed to arrest three persons involved in the heinous crime.
DIG Meerut zone, Lakshmi Singh, informed the media three people have been arrested. The arrested have been identified as Mohammed Shahez of Hapur, Raes Ahmad of Sutari village and Jabar Singh.
“Raids are being conducted by several teams in different locations to nab the others engaged in the crime, added the DIG.
On Saturday a mother and daughter — 35 and 14 — travelling with family from Noida to Shahjahanpur were robbed and gang-raped by higway-robbers.
The rape-victims’ family member who witnessed the heinous crime said, “We were travelling to Shahjahanpur to attend mourning of a relative. On the highway a gang of robbers pulled us out of the car on gunpoint.”
Narrating the ordeal he stated that the robbers tied all the male members and separated them from the rape-victims.
“On hearing their cry for help I raised my voice when I was brutally bashed. Security forces came to the incident site only after one of my friend called a senior police officer. No one heard our plea on the emergency helpline,” added the victim.
Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav, has suspended Bulandsahr senior superintendent of police along with SP City, circle officer Sadar, SHO Kotwali Dehat for dereliction of duty.
A high level security meeting including UP DGP Javeed Ahmad, principal secretary Debasish Panda hold meeting with other senior officers of the state police and administration in Bulandsahr to nab all the accused and improve decreasing law and order.
