Delhi – A United State-based woman has allegedly lodged a complaint of gang-rape by a group of five men including her tourist guide at a five-star hotel near Connaught Place in India’s captial.
According to police they have received a complaint from the victim via email. The woman said that she would come to Delhi to record her statement once an FIR is registered.
According to sources in the Delhi police the woman has narrated the ordeal she faced in the email sent to the official account of the police commissioner.
In the email complaint she has mentioned that she had arrived to Delhi in March 2016 on a tourist visa and was staying in a five star hotel near Connaught Place.
In the email she wrote, “She had hired a tourist guide from a private agency as suggested by the hotel staff. On the day of the incident the guide on pretext of discussing route-plan arrived to the hotel with his friends.”
“They had few drinks together, following which the guide forced himself on her and then his friend took turns to rape her,” said the officer.
The victim left the country traumatised immediately and has mentioned that she has not informed her family about the incident.
She narrated her ordeal to her lawyer-friend with whose help she came in contact with an NGO. The NGO suggested her to lodge a written complain via email to the police commissioner.
