In a major blow to the policies of the newly elected US President Donald Trump, a federal appeals court rejected Trump’s appeal to reinstate a temporary travel ban on the citizens of seven Muslim-majority nations.
The three judge panel refused to follow Trump’s ban order on the grounds of failure of producing any credible evidence of threat to the national security from those seven countries.
The federal appeals court issued a 29 pager judgement refusing to reinstate the ban.
Donald Trump did not take this court ruling in a positive manner and took to Twitter to express his anger and furiousness. He twitted “SEE YOU IN COURT, THE SECURITY OF OUR NATION IS AT STAKE!”
Trump dismissed the court ruling and claimed it as politically motivated. he also said that his administration will ultimately will the case is upper courts.
The panel of judges categorically stated that more evidence needed to reinstate the ban. The Justice Department under the Trump administration said that they are reviewing the court ruling and will revert with their future course of action.
Washington and Minnesota, both states challenged the controversial order of banning the citizens of seven Muslim majority nations as it violated the constitutional protections against religious discrimination.
