US President Donald Trump in his Presidential Campaign Election Manifesto has declared that he would build a wall across the border of Mexico if he is elected as the President. The border is about 3,100 km going across plains and hilly regions. President Trump said he would cover more than half the distance with the rest being taken care by natural obstacles.
Though Mr Trump has said the estimated cost would be between USD10-12 Billion, Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell has estimated the cost to be between USD12-15 Billion. Interestingly, a study by the Washington Post has estimated the cost to be USD25 Billion. Even though there is a fencing between US and Mexico for 650 miles cannot be described as impenetrable or safe.
The extension of the wall may go through Private Property which may need to be purchased pushing the costs further more. While US President said that the Mexican Government will cough up the cost, Mexican President firmly denied paying the costs.
Since the tender is out for the construction of the wall, some 200 companies has already expressed their willingness to be a part of this historic construction.
