Uttarakhand Government Pays Virat Kohli Rs 47 lakh out of floods deposit

Before the result to get out on 11th March in Uttarakhand, Harish Rawat Government caught by a controversy.


An activist who is BJP member has told that Indian cricket team captain Virat Kohli was paid some Rs 47.19 lakh in June 2015 from those funds which were of victims of the fatal 2013 Kedarnath floods to appear in 60-second tourism video. The cricketer was recruited as the brand ambassador of Uttarakhand during that time.

On this charge media advisor to Harish Rawat, Surendra Kumar said that tourism creates the strength to the state’s economy and it has nothing wrong in this if a known person is selected to promote the state’s destinations.

He also added that everything has been done in a legal system and the allegations are untrue. BJP is on the edge of losing elections and therefore they are using distracting tactics out of frustration, he said.
