More than 31,500 schools from 19 countries participated
India, April 27, 2015: Yash Joshi, a student of Grade 3 at VIBGYOR High, Balewadi achieved First Rank at the International level in the 17th National Science Olympiad (NSO) in the academic year 2014-15. The examination, conducted by Science Olympiad Foundation (SOF), witnessed participation from millions of students from more than 31500 schools from over 1400 cities in 19 countries in the current academic year.
Yash Joshi will be felicitated along with the other top performing students at an Award function organised by SOF on 31st May, 2015 in New Delhi. The student will be awarded with a cash prize of Rs.50,000 along with a Gold Medal, Merit Certificate and Gifts worth Rs. 1,000/-.

Apart from NSO, Yash also appeared in National Cyber Olympiad, International Mathematics Olympiad, International English Olympiad as well as NSTSE where he secured First Rank at the school level, First Rank at the State level, Second Rank at the school level and Rank 1 at the State level respectively. He has been participating in these examinations since Grade 1 and has been showcasing excellent performances.
SOF is a Registered Not-For-Profit Organisation, popularising Computer, Science, Mathematics and English Education among school children. National Science Olympiad, one of its examinations, is conducted for students across the world from Grade 1 – 12. The examination is held at 2 levels, focusing on logical reasoning, science and achievers section as a part of their syllabus.
