Dr Vijaypat Singhania, the founder of Raymond who has been in news because of a property dispute with his son, was hospitalised after severe chest pain on Thursday.
Vijaypat Singhania was admitted to Breach Candy hospital as his “parameters” were not normal, said doctors.
The 78 years old founder had undergone a coronary bypass surgery in London in March.
He was at a South Mumbai club when he felt severe pain and was rushed to the hospital around 6.30 pm.
After examining him, Dr Hemant Thacker placed him in the high dependency unit.
His condition was said to stable. His wife Asha and daughter’s family rushed to the hospital.
Heart blockages were spotted by Dr Thacker when Singhania had visited him earlier this year with chest pain.
Vijaypat Singhania, who was once one of India s richest men, has now become penniless after handing over the business to his tycoon son Gautam Singhania.
Vijaypat Singhania said that he regretted not spending more time with his children when they were younger.
