Stan Wawrinka, the World No.3 player recovered back after losing the first set to eventually end up winning the Geneva Tournament. After losing the first set for 4-6, he fought back valiantly to defeat German qualifier Mischa Zverev.
The win led him to claim the championship of the title. The opponent who was placed at World No.33 in the ranking did not make Wawrinka to sweat much after the first set eventually losing the match whose score card read as 4-6,6-3,6-3
Zverev initially broke the serve of the Swiss to take the first set which then saw Wawrinka racing to 3-0 in the second set in front of the home crowd. This comes at the time when the Roland Garros(French Open) is set to begin in the few days which saw Wawrinka claiming the title in 2015.
Wawrinka dropped the serve once in the final set but he managed to break Zverev’s serve three times.
