Well-prepared Team England arrives in Bhubaneswar today

Bhubaneswar, 1 December 2014: Just days before the Hero Hockey Champions Trophy 2014, it was England team who arrived in the city today to take on the challenge of the upcoming tournament. Settling for the 4th position during the Rabobank Hockey World Cup 2014, the Bobby Crutchley coached team if given a chance will look at settling scores with Argentina who beat them while fighting for the 3rd / 4th position in the tournament.

Under the leadership of Barry Middleton the team looked in confident and excited at the BPI Airport today and informed that they are ready to take on defending champions Australia in the opening match of the tournament.  Clearly aware that all eyes will be on the opening match, the team informed that they are prepared with their strategies in place.

Speaking after arriving at the airport, Captain Barry Middleton said, “Our team have been practising for the last couple of months. While we were playing for our respective Clubs in Europe, we were also getting ourselves prepared for the Hero Men’s Champions Trophy. The Hero Men’s Champions Trophy will be a challenging tournament for all the participating eight teams as all are the best hockey teams in the world. Like the other teams, we are also well-prepared for the tournament and ready to face our opponents on the turf.”

Speaking ahead of the much awaited tournament, Coach Bobby Crutchley said, “Our first motive is to get through the group matches and if we get good success in that, I believe we will have good chances in rest of the tournament. Our players are practicing hard for the last few months and they are ready for the challenges from all the teams. We know it’s a tough tournament, where best teams are playing, but we are confident about our abilities. We are looking forward to the Hero Men’s Champions Trophy.”

The nine-day tournament will see top eight teams of the world including Argentina, Australia, Belgium, England, Germany, India, Netherlands and Pakistan competing against each other for the title. England will be taking on Australia on 6th December 2014 at 12.00 noon India time and which is also the inaugural match of the Hero Men’s Champions Trophy 2014
