We all have friends that we love to spend time with. They are their support system and more than friends. They become family. What can be more amazing than doing business with them too?. Today, we are going to talk about Gapsted Wines which was born out of a partnership between friends in 1996.
On a planned weekend getaway, the founding partners decided to get together and discuss their new business venture. These partners are Shayne Cunningham, Jim and Bill Moularadellis, Pat and Kevin Murtagh, Richard Carson, John Cavedon and the Bailey family. Thus, Gapsted Wines was born. Their aim is still the same as before when they started which is to produce high quality and affordable wines.
The families of founding members were in the wine industry so they knew about the tricks of the trade. Moreover, they saw the potential of Alpine Valleys Wine Region and decided to take charge of all the operations.
Alpine Valleys Wine Region
A wine region is the heart of all wines and this is one of the most visited regions in Australia due to many fascinating cellar doors and during the skiing holiday season. On the north, it is surrounded by the Beech worth wine region and to the west by the King Valley. The cool nights and warm days are perfect for the grapes to grow. The valley has the cleanest, clearest and coldest water. This pure water comes from two sources–rainfall and melting of snow. It is used for irrigation in the vineyards.
Winery, Cellar Door and Restaurant
The cellar door was built in 2001 and has won many awards over the years. It won Best Winery Cellar Door in the Victorian Tourism Awards. The state-of-the-art winery and cellar door are located in the Alpine Valley, North East Victoria. Visitors are welcome here for free wine tasting and enjoy the picturesque view.
The restaurant and cellar door are a short drive from Myrtleford. Besides free wine tasting and amazing food, they host weddings and other special functions too. With dedicated staff they take care of everything right from food menu, decorations to seating arrangement they have covered it all. You can plan a wedding or suggest this place to your friend.
The brand has produced many award-winning wines which won 83 gold medals and 26 trophies. The winery has been deemed as Best Alpine Winery for six consecutive years. Recently, it won the Best Large Cellar Door 2018 award by Australian Gourmet Traveller.
With all these awards and special services to cater visitors for weddings and other functions. Surely, Gapsted Wines has come a long way and it has marked its presence in the international market as well. It is a total package and worth visiting!
