Can a blind person be a witness to a murder? And what are the implications if a blind person presents himself as the witness in front of the police and court of law. Will their testimony be accepted by the court of law? And how can a blind person even think about being a witness in court, considering the fact that they can become easy targets for people who committed the crime? These and many more interesting questions are answered in Andhadhun, which has a unique and riveting storyline. The movie is based on L’Accordeur or The Piano Tuner (2010), a French short film by Olivier Treiner. However, the story has been revamped majorly with various twists and turns. The final product is something that you may have never experienced before.

The story is about Aakash (Ayushmann Khurrana), who is a blind person with exemplary piano skills. He works as a piano teacher, and during one of his teaching sessions, he becomes a witness to an alleged murder. He is motivated by his conscience to report the crime, but will his statement be accepted by the police or the court of law. As Aakash displays certain abilities that are not expected from a blind person, people around him start to suspect if he is really blind or if he is playing his own games with them.

Blind protagonists have been used in many movies, but Andhadhun’s horrifying story of crime, deceit and dread is unlike any other we have seen in the past. Full credit goes to the seasoned actors – Ayushmann Khurrana, Tabu and Radhika Apte – who have left no doubts that such deceitful and dangerous characters can actually exist. Credit also goes to Director Sriram Raghavan, who is known for his unparalleled ability to portray seriously twisted tales that come with loads of dark comedy. This genre is hard to perfect, but Raghavan seems to have achieved mastery over it. Andhadhun has a spectacular climax that will really make you bite your nails.

If you prefer mystery and crime thrillers, you would love to watch Andhadhun. The movie will keep you guessing all along and it’s likely that you will be amazed by what happens in the end.
