Anurag Kashyap, Tigmanshu Dhulia on the jury board of MyFrenchFilmFestival 2015

The one-of-its-kind online film festival will have ten feature and ten short films showing free for all Indian users on

Anurag KashyapCome January, celebrated filmmaker Anurag Kashyap along with critically acclaimed filmmaker and actor, Tigmanshu Dhulia, will be seen as a part of the jury of an online French film festival – MyFrenchFilmFestivalInida 2015. Beginning from January 16, 2015, the month long online festival will have more than twenty films available for viewing to Indian users, free of cost, on VoD platform

Bringing the young generation of French filmmakers to the rest of the world, the festival will feature ten French feature films and ten French shorts. The films have all been helmed by the new generation of French filmmakers. Kashyap, who is known for all things niche – especially the films he makes and likes to watch – was a part of the festival’s international jury last year. And Dhulia who is known for his niche and critically highly acclaimed films and roles, will be joining his Gangs of Wasseypur director on the board of the festival.

“If there is any language I would learn, it will be French,” said the Dev-D director while talking about his love for French cinema and the upcoming film festival. “The people in France, they support cinema, and the liberation from the moral codes in France makes me envious. French films have always taught me to be brutally honest without any fear. I will never miss any chance to watch any film, being a jury is just an excuse to watch all the films of these new filmmakers. And last year I was a jury of MyFrenchFilmFestival in France so why not now in India?”

While talking about the reaction he expects from these films being made available free of cost in India, Kashyap quips, “I expect the traffic is so much that the VoD platform crashes, and after MyFrenchFilmFestival they have to rebuild their website to show more French and international films.”

Talking about his association with MyFrenchFilmFestivalIndia 2015, the accomplished director-actor, Tigmanshu Dhulia said, “I have, like many others, appreciated French Cinema from early on in my life and hence, I am definitely looking forward to this edition of MyFrenchFilmFestivalIndia and am honored to be associated with it as a jury member. From the stories to the fluidity of the screenplays, French films are always a delight to watch. The month long festival, with some excellent cinema will be an absolute treat – especially for budding filmmakers, for whom this is the perfect opportunity to learn about and from the films of that part of the world. I applaud for their initiative which has ensured that MyFrenchFilmFestivalIndia becomes that much more accessible in India. “
