Bounty for pensioners in Haryana; Sakshi Malik accuses government of not giving her 2.5 crore

Pensioners in Haryana are in for good times, as the State government has announced that the benefits will be paid as per the seventh central pay commission (CPC), effective from January 1, 2016. The benefits would be available to both pre and post January 1, 2016 pensioners and it would also apply to the family pensioners of the State government.

The announcement was made today by Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar while he was addressing the State Legislative Assembly. According to Khattar, the decision will benefit around 2.25 lakh pensioners and family pensioners. He also said that Haryana will be the first State in the country to provide pension and family pension as per the seventh pay commission.

In another development in Haryana, Olympic bronze medal winner Sakshi Malik accused the State government of not giving her the promised Rs 2.5 crore. She marked her protest through a Twitter post that read, मैडलकावादामैंनेपूराकिया, हरियाणासरकारअपनावादाकबपूराकरेगी ? In another tweet, she asked, “Announcements made by Haryana Government after my OLYMPIC MEDAL win were for MEDIA ONLY?”

However, Haryana sports minister Anil Vij has junked Sakshi Malik’s claim, saying that the promised Rs 2.5 crore has already been paid to Malik. “We gave a cheek of Rs 2.5 crore the day she landed in India,” said Vij. Vij also said that she may have been influenced by some political group, due to which, she is giving such false statements.
