Australia becomes the favourite education destination by aspirants
In a recent study conducted by Pearson for PTE Academic, the computer-based test of English proficiency for immigration and study abroad, Business Management and Engineering emerge as the top 2 courses preferred by students in India to study abroad. The study of PTE-Academic, reveals that 14% of students going abroad prefer a course in Business Management and 11% in Engineering followed by Information Technology/Computer Sciences to explore as a career avenue.
While the students continue to prefer these standard courses, there has been a remarkable shift towards courses like Accountancy and Finance (18.2%) and Tourism & Hospitality Management (6%). Students are going for management courses in finance, marketing, retail and hotel industry. Furthermore, 32% of these students apply for post-graduate courses and only 21% of students opt to pursue undergraduate courses. Majority of Indian students are opting to pursue education in Australia. New Zealand ranks second preferred country in the list followed by Canada. Besides the preference of study streams, students are equally concerned about achieving a good score in language proficiency exam. In the process of preparation, learners are anxious about scores getting affected due to human interventions or biases.
