Children enjoy with farm animals at Barnyard Bash

First of its kind carnival held in a school

Bangalore, October 11, 2014 – Greenwood High Preschool today hosted “Barnyard Bash” – a complete farm animal carnival at its campus at Gottigere, Bannerghatta Road. The bash witnessed huge participation from children as well as the parents who had a real time learning experience to understand the concept beautifully, yet easily. The event was open for all.

Each classroom was set up as models (of different farm animals) depicting their homes, food, babies, features etc. Children got the feel of the habitat and learnt about farm animals. A ‘touch and feel’ experience with games, puzzles, take away, displays was done to make learning truly exciting. It was a day filled with fun and frolic with mouth watering food, rides, and audio visuals. The event also featured puppet show, horse and bullock cart ride to make the carnival more exciting.

Greenwood High is a second home for my child. The school believes in learning through experience. The Barnyard Bash was one such example. I am thoroughly convinced that my little one is placed in the right environment, said Mrs Deepa Srikanth, a parent.

We were amazed to see the school transformed into a farmland for making preschoolers learning about farm animals. Milking the cow, puppet show, shearing the sheep, tailing the animals, were some of the attractions. It’s wonderful to see the school come up with such innovative ideas and we loved it, said Rohit Choudhary, a parent.

“We at Greenwood High believe in creating environment to learn. In same sequence we have planned for farm animals, an EVS concept. This makes teaching concept much simpler and easier for a child to understand. A complete real time set up with MI related activities focuses on learning.  We also enthrust the application of these concepts in real life situation which leads to cognitive learning”, said Mrs. Nandini Basu, Center Head, Greenwood High Preschool, Bannerghatta road.
