The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) struggling to gain power with the central government appointed official got a blow after the high court on Thursday ruled that the Delhi-government must communicate all decisions take by its ministers to the lieutenant governor.
The court stated that the lieutenant government is not bound to the advice’s given by the ministers, while the state-government has too communicate their decisions to the center too.
The AAP is planning to challenge the verdict in the Supreme Court.
Since APP government came into power in February2015, Kejriwal government and the lieutenant government have been in clashes concerning to control of police, file clearance and appointments.
“We will challenge the verdict in the Supreme Court, which only has the power to interpret the constitution,” Delhi Home Minister Satyendar Jain Said.
The court also quashed two-high profile probes including alleged irregularities in granting CNG fitness certificates and in the running of state cricket body set by the Kejriwal government
AAP government order to penalize DISCOMs for unscheduled powercut and setting aside of appointments made by the DISCOM board were also scrapped by the court.
The court said both the decisions were not communicated to the lieutenant general Najeeb Jung.
AAP’s Ashish Khetan termed the High Court as mockery of Indian Democracy. He tweeted, “The verdict has made a mockery of Indian Democracy…Would Narendra Modi have agreed toPranab Mukherjee running the central government after winning 282 seats in Lok Sabha?”
While, the lieutenant general Najeeb Jung after the court verdict said, “The constitution has won.”
