The tableau of the National Capital Territory of Delhi will be displayed in the 68th Republic Day Parade on the 26th of January, 2017. The Delhi tableau will be on the parade after a gap of 3 years. The tableau will focus on the transformed Delhi education system that Delhi now has. It will highlight the better quality of schools and education system that has been introduced by the AAP convenor and Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal led Delhi Government.
Another new addition to the parade will be the tableau of Lakshwadeep, which will be participating in the parade after 23 years. The last time they were present on it was in 1994!!! They will be highlighting the various tourism opportunities that exist there with a focus on unexplored hidden destinations that are present there. The othe rstates which will have their tableaus in the parade are Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Himachal Pradesh, Haryana, Goa, Gujarat, Jammu and Kashmir, Karnataka, Odisha, Maharashtra, Manipur, Tamil Nadu, Tripura, Punjab and West Bengal.
There will also be tableaus of ministerial departments of Skill development, Central Public Works Department, Housing and Urban Poverty Alleviation, Micro Small Medium Enterprise, Council of Scientific and Industrial Research and the Central Board of Excise and Customs.
This will be Bharat’s 68th Republic Day since the constitution came into force on this day in the year 1950.The Chief Guest for the event will be the Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi, His Highness Sheikh Mohamed Bin Zayed Al Nahyan who will be seated next to President Pranab and Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
