Doklam border issue with China to be resolved soon, says government

After video clippings of Indian and Chinese soldiers fighting with each other went viral, the government said that the border issue with China will soon be resolved. The assurance regarding peaceful solution to the Doklam issue with China was provided by Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh. The videos showed Indian and Chinese soldiers fighting with each other using their bodies, without any weapons. The soldiers were not even using their hands to fight, as no side wanted the situation to escalate. However, it was still very aggressive and a serious matter. Things could easily escalate if such things continue over and over again. In some videos, the soldiers of the two countries could also be seen throwing stones at each other. “A deadlock is going on between India and China in Doklam. But I think a solution will come out soon. China will also take a positive step from its side,” Rajnath Singh said.

Meanwhile, China has not provided any assurance that the issue will be resolved amicably. Chinese Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Hua Chunying had said that Chinese soldiers were patrolling in Chinese territory when they were confronted by Indian soldiers. She said that the Chinese soldiers were patrolling on the Chinese side of the Pangong Lake in Ladakh. She said that the response of Indian soldiers was very aggressive and unacceptable. However, Indian Army has said that Chinese soldiers had entered Indian territory, which is why Indian soldiers had to stop them.
