Dr. Subi Chaturvedi was awarded for her remarkable contribution to the upliftment of the society & nation building through her vision and passion
5thAugust,2021, New Delhi:Dr. Subi Chaturvedi, the Chief Corporate & Public Affairs Officer at Zupee, was honoredwith Impact Award 2021for her contribution towards social upliftment and nation building by Chief Guests, Shri Siddharth Nath Singh, Cabinet Minister MSME, Investment and Export, Government of Uttar Pradesh and Shri Anand Swarup Shukla, Minister of State for Rural Development, Government of Uttar Pradesh.
The awards were organizedby inextto recognize impact makers who have shone bright in their respective fields, and in the process, have contributed to social development and were attended by the who’s who of the UP State Government, industry and national media. This is the second major award conferred to Dr. Subi Chaturvedifor her contribution towards nation building, innovation and social development. She has been particularly invested in innovation in learning and skilling of the workforce of the country for the jobs of tomorrow with notable impact at the global and the grassroots level.
Expressing her views about the need for extending strong support to the society at large, in the new normal, Dr. Subi Chaturvedi, said “The pandemic presented unimaginable challenges and obstacles that disrupted everything and affected everyone. It also presented an opportunity for innovation. We had to adapt to the new normal and keep moving forward. I am honoured to be recognised for my contributions but my work has only begun. We will have to work together if we are to become a 5 trillion-dollar economy and take everyone along for all around development”.
Of all the things impacted by the pandemic, education and skilling and the marginalised have been the worst hit. Around 1.6 billion learners were affected during the last two years. In this regard, Dr. Subi Chaturvedi further added that to prevent the waste of immense potential, demographic dividend and to build on the progress of the last decade, we need urgent reforms in learning and skilling. Recalling the recent addresses by the Hon’ble Prime Minister on the subject, she called for gaming companies to work on gamification of learning and skilling to help prepare the workforce of the future, like the innovations at Zupee.
Dr. Chaturvedi has led one the biggest interventions for COVID-19 relief efforts in India by a corporate, fulfilling over 60% of the country’s requirement of PPE suits in the first three months, which was appreciated widely by Ministry of Health & Family Welfare and Ministry of Textiles, government of India and the industry alike. Keeping medical professionals and frontline workers safe wasa top priority for her. This also resulted in policy change exempting all medical donations from duties, benefitting the entire industry. She had several opportunities to lead multiregional and interdepartmental teams across time zones to drive relief efforts and successfully navigated over 5 policy changes in China working together with senior bureaucrats and PSUs in India. The project won critical appreciation from the senior most stakeholders in the Government and inspiring similar process outcomes and wide adoption in the industry.
Dr. Subi Chaturvedi has emerged as a key industry voice for the digital services, online gaming and gamification sectors. A strong advocate for positive change and digital transformation, Dr. Subi Chaturvedi has been working tirelessly towards shaping the policy ecosystem and perception aroundIndian online gaming& gamificationsector to help the industry capitalise and strengthen its leadership position in the global market for India.
Dr. Chaturvedi is currently also chairing FICCI’s committee on Women in Technology, Policy & Leadership. In the past, she has been the Global Co-Chair of the Netmundial Initiative, a response from global governments after the Snowden Revelations. She also has been the Member of the UN Internet Governance Forum (MAG), appointed by the UNSecretary General, as well on the Boards of UK India Business Council (UKIBC), IGFSA. She has contributed immensely to nation building, deepening democracy and working with the youth and women to use technology for good and gaming for all for deepening democracy and enhancing the contribution towards building India as a fully connected and digitally empowered nation. She has successfully removed market entry barriers and contributed towards bringing in progressive policy change for the industry. She remains especially committed to the cause of women empowerment and works extensively towards bringing in the next generation of women leaders forward supporting more women in technology and girls in ICT. She has emerged as a leading voice for developing countries and emerging economies in global internet governance and cybersecurity.
