Haryana Goverment Requests 5,600 Paramilitary To Deal With Ongoing Jat Agitation

Haryana State Government has requested the Centre to provide additional 5,600 paramilitary forces to manage the ongoing Jat agitation which entered 17th day today.

As of now, no severe tensions have been reported but to manage the situation, the state government predicts a rise in tensions.

Jat Quota Protest

The Haryana government conveyed Centre that due to the ongoing Jat agitation demanding quota, tension has gripped in different parts of the state.

The state government has requested to 56 companies of paramilitary personnel. The proposal is under consideration of the Home Ministry.

The Jats in Haryana are seeking reservation in education and government jobs among other demands. Sit-ins and dharnas are continued in many areas across the state.

During last Jat agitation, around 30 people were killed and properties worth crores of rupees were damaged at many places in Haryana.
