– Reiterates its commitment to establish CATHLABs in every single district across India by 2030, in addition to supporting ‘Make in India’ initiative
Tuesday, 26th October, 2021, Bengaluru: Bengaluru-based, Innovation Imaging Technologies Pvt. Ltd. (IITPL), recently inaugurated a state-of-the-art manufacturing facility for CATHLABs in the august presence of Shri Nitin Gadkari, Minister for Road Transport and Highways, Government of India, Shri Dr. K. Sudhakar, Minister of Medical Education and Health, Government of Karnataka, Shri Dr. C N Ashwath Narayan, Minister of Science and Technology, Higher Education and IT, BT, Government of Karnataka, Shri Dr Jitendra Sharma, Managing Director and CEO, AMTZ, and Shri Dr. C N Manjunath, Director, Sri Jayadeva Institute of cardiovascular Sciences and Research. With this new facility, IITPL will further strengthen its market reach.
Gaurav Agarwal, Managing Director, IITPL, and other senior members of the organisation were also present. IITPL is an Involution JV Company in the medical devices manufacturing industry and is known for its revolutionary CATH LAB, “Pinnacle”. The organisation is a joint venture between VJ Technologies, New York, Ex-Alpha X-ray Promoters, Germany and India, and Innvolution Healthcare, New Delhi.
In a short span of just over 3 years of commercialisation, IITPL has a presence across 67 cities and 16 states in India and aims to establish CATH LABS in every 718 districts in India by 2030.
This new facility will further reinforce the importance of CATH LABs, which are both diagnostic and therapeutic medical equipment to treat Cardio-vascular disease, the No. 1 killer in India. The key reason for the prevalence of this disease is the limited number of angioplasties being performed in the country due to poor penetration of CATH LABs in several districts. This is where IITPL is set to become a game-changer in the medical equipment manufacturing industry.
Congratulating the IITPL team and wishing them success, Shri Nitin Gadkari, Minister for Road Transport and Highways, Government of India, said, “Medical Device innovations, such as this Cath Lab will certainly bring down our country’s dependency on imports, where the cost is very high and equip doctors in every district of India. India’s requirement for Cath Labs is high and IITPL should continue Research that matches International Standards without compromising on quality, provide heart care facility affordable to the masses and export to other countries as well.“ He also said, “Such facilities should become a part of Medical Devices Park or Industrial Clusters along with other companies in related services, which will further make India, Atmanirbhar.”
During the inauguration of the facility, Shri Dr. K Sudhakar, Minister of Medical Education and Health, Government of Karnataka, said, “I am delighted and happy to visit this IITPL facility that manufactures Cath Labs, a concept of ‘Atmanirbhar Bharath’. This Made-in-India affordable Cath Lab, with state-of-the-art design, will cater to Indian states covering all districts.” He further added, “I wish this young IITPL team all the very best and further success. India believes in you and you have made us proud.”

Dr. C N Manjunath, Director, Sri Jayadeva Institute of cardiovascular Sciences and Research, said, “The long cherished dream of India making good quality affordable Cardiac Cath Lab has come true. The organization is also contributing to the much-needed skilled development in this advanced technology space, by hiring fresh graduates and providing training on a regular basis.
IITPL boasts of having the smallest footprint for a CATH LAB, which consumes lesser space as well as saves long-term recurring costs of running the facility. It has optimized harmful X-ray radiation, with 30% less input dose, thereby resulting in much lesser scatter radiation, hence safer. Furthermore, CATH LAB has a world-class industrial design and has won Design Awards internationally as well.
