From the first minute of the match, Indian colts were in control and gave no room to the opposition team. India received the early penalty corner and defender Varun Kumar left no chance to convert it into the first goal of the match. After leading by 1-0, India received two more back-to-back penalty corners in quick succession, and both the opportunities were marvelously converted into goals by penalty corner specialist & defender Harmanpreet Singh.

The star of Sultan of Johor Cup Harmanpreet along with Captain Harjeet Singh strategically outfoxed the Japanese and maintained their domination in the penalty corners. After leading by 3-0, forward player Sumit Toppo sneaked into the opponents’ defense-line and smashed the ball in the goal, taking the lead of 4-0. Maintaining the supremacy, Indians managed to earn another penalty corner and this time again; Varun pushed the ball into the box and took the scorecard to 5-0.

As the match went away from Japan junior team after conceding five goals, Japanese started losing motivation and found themselves without any plan to stop the Indians. The Indian colts continued their attacks from all front and kept the opposition’ players busy. Forward player Parvinder Singh managed to breach the defense-line and hit the ball in the box to score the sixth goal for India. In the next few minutes, Sumit Toppo also outsmarted the opponent’s defenders and sent the ball into the net for the seventh goal of the match.

At the end of the game, the score stood at 7-0 announcing a well-deserved victory for the Junior Men Hockey Team.
