India Men Team outplays Great Britain 3-1 in their fourth practice match

18 June 2015, Antwerp (Belgium):  With a motivating victory over USA in the previous practice match, the India Men Hockey Team posted a 3-1 win over Great Britain in their fourth practice match ahead of the Fintro Hockey World League Semi-Final 2015 which was held in Antwerp in Belgium on Wednesday, 17th June 2015.

India Men Team opened their account in their very first minute of the match when midfielder Gurbaj Singh stormed into the opponent’s D and hit the ball into the goal-box without giving any chance to British defenders. With the motivating first goal, the Indian players kept on attacking and defender Devindar Sunil Walmiki extended the lead by 2-0 when his shot found the nets during a raid in the 12th minute. After eight minutes (20th minute), forward player Akashdeep Singh scored the third goal for his team.

Trailing by 0-3, Great Britain scored the consolation goal in 28th minute and the match finished at 3-1 in favour of India. Indian defenders displayed a brilliant performance and denied any penalty corner to the opponents.

Fintro Hockey World League Semi-Final 2015 is scheduled from 20th June to 05th July 2015. India will be seen clashing against France at 09:30 pm IST in their opening match of the tournament on the 20th June 2015.
