If we talk about Bollywood, there’s always been a specific formula that most films utilize in terms of their storyline and music. Comparing that to Jagga Jasoos, we see that the movie is a lot different. It’s essentially an experiment and one that has turned out to be quite successful. As compared to Hollywood musicals, this one has a specific reason for being a musical, as it helps the stammering Jagga (Ranbir Kapoor) to express himself better. The movie will take you into a dream world and you will gradually start to accept it and glide through it effortlessly.

The movie catches up on the life of Jagga, who has interest in the science and art of investigative deduction since an early age. He is trying to find his missing father Tooti Footi (Saswata Chatterjee), but it has turned out to be a difficult road for him. However, things change when Jagga meets a journalist named Shruti (Katrina Kaif). It starts with a simple investigation, but soon both of them get involved in something much bigger that makes them embark on an adventure of their lifetime. As they accidently stumble upon an illegal arms racket, they have to take on a dangerous intelligence officer (Saurabh Shukla), who wants to eliminate them.

Ranbir has emerged as the true entertainer in Jagga Jasoos. You love him instantly, as he manages to tug at your heartstrings with his laughs and goofiness. Katrina manages to play an effective sidekick to Jagga. Credit also goes to the entire team, including Amitabh Bhattacharya for lyrics and rhyming dialogues; Pritam for his soulful music; art director Parijat Poddar and cinematographer Ravi Varman for adding magic to every frame; and director Anurag Basu for his brave effort and unique vision.

If you want to try something new, you would definitely want to watch Jagga Jasoos. This would be great to watch with your entire family, and your kids are certainly gonna love it!
