Popular TV host Jimmy Kimmel will host the 2018 edition of the academy awards. Kimmel will be returning to host the show after making a successful debut last years which was overshadowed by the envelope debacle.
It is believed that Jimmy Kimmel will team up with producers Michal De Luca and Jennifer Todd again to host the 90th edition of the academy awards on March 4, 2018.
A tweet by the Academy of Motion Pictures Arts and Science confirmed the story as it wrote on its twitter handle that, “No one through a party 90 years in the making like Jimmy Kimmel and Producers Michal De Luca and Jennifer Todd! Welcome back! Oscar 90.”
People rated Jimmy Kimmel’s performance as the host of 89th Academy Awards as ‘good’ but the last minute envelope gaffe which resulted in announcing ‘La La Land’ as the winner rather than actual winner ‘Moonlight’ in the Best Picture category, overshadowed his performance.
Jimmy took to Twitter to express his excitement and joked about the envelope gaffe as he wrote that, ‘’Thanks to Academy for asking me to host The Oscars again (assuming I opened the right envelope).”
Both the producers Luca and Todd said that they were happy to be back again and eagerly waiting for it. Kimmel also joked asking people to wait for the 2018 Oscars if they believe that envelope fiasco was the biggest one, indicating he has something very mischievous planned for the event.
