Kunwar Sarvesh Kumar is an Indian politician and a Member of Parliament from the Lok Sabha constituency of Moradabad in Uttar Pradesh. He has been with the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) for many years and is one of the senior leaders in the party. Kumar had also been a Member of Legislative Assembly (MLA) for five terms from Thakurdwara constituency. Throughout his political career, Kumar has remained committed to the welfare of the weaker and poor sections of the society including famers. He has been credited with several of the developmental projects launched in Thakurdwara and Moradabad. Some of these projects include schools/colleges, civic buildings, roads & bridges, etc. He has also collaborated with national as well as regional banks and launched special finance schemes that provide assistance to farmers and small and large businesses.He has also played a key role in bringing down the crime rate in Moradabad.

Early Life and Education                                                                                

Kunwar Sarvesh Kumar was born in Ratupura, Moradabad, Uttar Pradesh on December 22, 1951 to Late Shri Ram Pal Singh and Smt. Shanti Devi. He completed his Intermediate education from K.G.K. Inter College, Moradabad, Uttar Pradesh. He married Smt. Sadhna Singh on May 26, 1983.

Political Career                   

Kunwar Sarvesh Kumar inherited the political legacy of his father Raja Ram Pal Singh, who had been an MLA from Thakurdwara for 4 terms and also a Member of Parliament from Amroha. After Sarvesh joined the BJP, he won his ancestral assembly seat of Thakurdwara in 1991. He retained the constituency for many years, but in 2007, he was defeated by Vijay Yadav from Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP). Later, in 2009, he contested for the Moradabad Lok Sabha seat on a BJP ticket, but lost to Mohammad Azharuddin from the Indian National Congress (INC). In 2012, he contested the legislativeelection from Thakurdwara and won the seat on a BJP ticket. In 2014, he was again nominated for the Moradabad Lok Sabha seat, which he won by defeating the nearest candidate by a margin of 87,504 votes.

Personal Pursuits

In his free time, Kunwar Sarvesh Kumar likes listening to folk songs. In sports, one of his favorite is the game of volleyball. During his youth, he had participated in several State/regional level volleyball tournaments.
