After 7 people were killed and around 48 people injured, many critically, in the recent London terror attack, the British counter terrorism police have arrested 12 people in connection with the deadly attack. The arrests were made during raids conducted at suspected hideouts in London. One of the raids was conducted at a flat that was owned by one of the three attackers. It may be recalled that all the three attackers have been killed by security forces in London. Police officials said that they have identified several other suspected hideouts and these will be searched in the coming days. Meanwhile, UK Prime Minister Theresa May said that violence can never disrupt the democratic process and that elections will be conducted as planned.
In another related news, one that is completely opposite to the terror attack, Gurdwaras in London offered timely relief to the victims of terror attack by offering them food and shelter. The gurdwaras were quick to provide relief and opened their doors to the victims, soon after the deadly attack. Sikhs in London quickly shared maps of the nearest Gurdwaras to help the terror victims in the early hours of the morning. A tweet posted by GlasgowGurdwara read, “#Sikh Gurdwara in London are open to help & support those affected tonight with shelter & food #LondonBridge #United.”
