Manmarziyaan appears to be an interesting triangular love story with a blend of both new age rebellious love and the classic, mature love that lasts a lifetime. Love triangles have been repeatedly used in hundreds of movies, and even though Manmarziyaan uses the same theme, it has a refreshing new story that is unlike any other seen before. There is no black or white character here and each individual has their own good qualities and vices. Manmarziyaan also depicts how the definition of love changes with time, the mistakes we make in the process, and how we eventually choose stable relationships over the ones that may be just bordering around physical intimacy.

Manmarziyaan catches up on the life of Rumi (Taapsee Pannu) and Vicky (Vicky Kaushal), who are deeply madly in love with each other. They share a passionate relationship and can’t have enough of each other. However, things start to change when their families discover their relationship and start pressurizing them to get married. Rumi is delighted to get married, but Vicky develops commitment phobia and appears reluctant to tie the knot. This change in Vicky’s attitude is a huge setback for Rumi, who starts looking for other alternatives. This is when Robbie (Abhishek Bachchan) comes into the picture and things start to get more dramatic, chaotic and complicated.

Manmarziyaan expresses some very deep emotions that not everyone may be able to understand. The writing is superior and dialogues are exceptionally good. The music is peppy and elevating and it carries the exuberance of youth. Excellent cinematography and taut editing have also improved the overall appeal of Manmarziyaan. Talking about the actors, this is Taapsee’s best performance ever. Equally good are the performance by Abhishek and Vicky.

Manmarziyaan has emerged as an engaging romantic movie, which is likely to be counted among the best in Bollywood. This one will certainly pull at your heart strings and may help you discover new meaning in your relationships.
