In a horrendous act of crime against minor, a 14-year-old girl was allegedly gang-raped in front of parents and siblings by at least eight people for more than 30 hours in Jharkhand’s Dhanbad district.
The incident came to light after villagers rescued the victim’s family members tied to a tree in a secluded area near Topchanchi water-board dam under Topchanchi police station in Dhanbad district on Thursday. With the help of the rescuers the family members lodged complaint with the Topchanchi police station.
Narrating their ordeal the victim family told the police that they had come to the dam on Wednesday for picnicking along with a accomplished who took them captive along with seven others and raped their daughter after tying them to trees.
“While we were wrapping our things to return home as the sun was setting down, our accomplice along with seven others overpowered me and and wife. Tied us and my son and eight-year-old daughter to a tree and raped my elder daughter,” narrated the grieved father.
He added that on pleading our abductors attacked them with batons.
The grieved father added that after raping their daughter at the incident site they took her away to some other place and left us their tied to the trees.
The local police on learning the incident formed several raiding teams to recover the minor and arrest the eight accused.
Topchanchi DSP Manish Kumar talking to the media said, “We have arrested the main accused, Ajay Kumar, and have recovered the girl from his residence.”
