It’s said that laughter is the best medicine, so going by that logic, Housefull 3 seems like just what the doctor ordered. However, do not try to find any logic or rationality in the movie itself, since there is hardly any. The movie intends to make you laugh, so it really doesn’t matter if it chooses buffoonery over the intellectual type of humor.

Housefull 3 is largely a comedy of errors, built around a convoluted storyline. The movie catches up on the lives of three siblings, Gracy (Jacqueline), Sarah (Nargis) and Jenny (Lisa), who are daughters of Batuk Patel (Boman Irani), a wealthy, London-based businessman. Although all three daughters act ‘sanskari’ in front of their father, they are completely different in the outside world, where they have a lifestyle that equals that of a brat pack.

The story turns into a roller coaster ride when the daughters announce that each of them has a boyfriend and they want to get married. Their father, Batuk, is not happy with the development since he does not trust the boys. Since Batuk is against the marriage of his daughters, it’s up to the combined efforts of the boys – Sandy (Akshay), Bunty (Abhishek) and Teddy (Riteish) – to win over Batuk’s confidence and get his approval for the marriage. The web of lies they spin to achieve that end goes completely out of control and lets loose a chaotic chain of events, some humorous, some absolute nonsense.

Akshay appears to have mastered this genre of rib-tickling humor, as he effortlessly gets under the skin of his character, one that suffers from a personality disorder. Abhishek and Riteish are also not far behind in playing the wide variety of goof-ups that make up this movie. The female leads sizzle and dazzle, but apart from that, their roles require them to play dumb throughout the movie.

If you need some time pass, then Housefull 3 can be an option. Go for the laughter and try to ignore the gags that may appear distasteful to you. Not everything is perfect.
