It is also believed that Zeling has bowed down to the opponents of reservation for women in urban local bodies.

Zeling has called an emergency meeting of his party members, Naga People’s Front (NPF) on Monday to announce new chief minister.

T R Zeiling’s office issued two decisions during the late hours on Sunday, first about resigning and second about submitting the resignation to governor P B Acharya.

T R Zeliang said that central leaders and few groups have received suggestions that Lok Sabha MP Neiphiu Rio should take over the CM position of the state.

He also claimed that the governor, the Intelligence Bureau (IB), Assam Rifles, the CRPF and Congress had asked for President’s Rule in the state.
He said that as the talks are going on to control the Naga political issues, the Presidential Rule may not be a good solution.
