Officials appointed by BCCI ex-president Anurag Thakur sacked; Delhi office closed

In its mission to completely dismantle the old BCCI structure, the Supreme Court appointed Committee of Administrators (COA) has sacked all board officials who were appointed by BCCI ex-president Anurag Thakur and ex-secretary Ajay Shirke. The decision has been taken after reports that confidential discussions of the Indian Cricket team in the dressing room were being leaked to former BCCI president Anurag Thakur. The offices of ex-president and ex-secretary have also been shut down and all people working at these offices have been relieved of their duties.

The panel has also sacked BCCI media manager Nishant Arora. Nishant was given a chance to shift to Mumbai office since the Delhi office has been ordered to be closed down. However, Nishant refused the offer and decided to part ways with the board. He submitted his resignation to the panel. Sources have revealed that is was Arora who was passing on confidential information of Indian Cricket team to Anurag Thakur.

“We had just said that President’s Office in Delhi should be shut down and all those recruited in Delhi office will need to go. We never named Nishant but if he is a Delhi Office recruit then he has to go. But if his media manager’s contract is independent of it, then Rahul (BCCI CEO Rahul Johri) takes a final call. Nishant’s replacement will also be decided by Rahul,” said COA member Diana Edulji.
