Order Issued To Shoot Anyone Attempting Jailbreak In Madhya Pradesh

The Madhya Pradesh (MP) state Jail department has issued a strict order to shoot at sight if anyone found attempting jail break. In the wake of growing incidents of jailbreaks in MP, the authorities have issued the order, the authorities claimed on Tuesday. The Jail Department has asked the concerned authorities to take the orders in effect immediately.

Additional Director General of Police (ADGP – Jails) Gajiram Meena said that the prisoners/undertrials found attempting to break open a prison door or wall or attempting to scale the jails’ outer walls will henceforth be shot. Officers of the rank of Jail Superintendent can decide on giving orders to shoot the fleeing inmates.
