Owaisi demands Supreme Court-monitored inquiry on eight SIMI

Chief Asaduddin Owaisi, All India Majlis-e-Ittehad Muslimeen (AIMIM) chief has questioning the authenticity of the elimination of eight SIMI activists by Madhya Pradesh police has demanded for a Supreme Court-monitored inquiry.

“The facts which have been shared by the government and police officials are not satisfactory. The theory seems unbelievable and plus the video which is getting viral on social media shows they are being shot. I would request the Madhya Pradesh government to agree to a SC-monitored inquiry.”

The Madhya Pradesh police has asserted that it was a must action —open fire— by the security forces to neutralize the SIMI fugitives who on Monday early hours had made an audacious jail break from Bhopal Central Jail.

Yogesh Choudhary, Bhopal inspector general of police, said that all the SIMI terrorists were killed in cross-firing. “The killed had a track record of being involved in various serious crime,” the IG told the media.

He added that the operation was only launched after gathering information from all possible resources.
