In a nationwide hunt for terror suspects, more than 350 people have been arrested by Pakistani security forces. Those arrested include a significant number of Afghan and Uzbek nationals. The Pakistani forces have recovered a huge cache of arms and drugs from the arrested terror suspects. Security forces also claimed that they have foiled a terror bid in Quetta, the provincial capital of troubled Balochistan. The operation was carried out on Saturday and Sunday.
A large cache of arms and ammunition was seized during raids conducted at Shirani village of Dattakhel, North Waziristan.30 suspects were arrested during a raid in Gulberg whereas another 75 people were arrested in Bannu. 20 people were also arrested during a raid in Karmpur and Jamal Ghouspur areas of Kashmore in Sindh province. Certain locations inside Karachi were also scanned for terror suspects, which led to the arrest of more than 160 people. 22 suspects were arrested in Bahawalpur.
The planned bomb attack was foiled by the police in Quetta. The police have claimed that the bomb was planted on Arbab Karam Khan Road. The bomb disposal squad was called in to defuse the bomb.
