PoK Land Rent Scam: CBI Registers FIR

In a shocking incident, the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has unearthed a scam where the Indian army was made to pay rent for land situated in Pakistan occupied Kashmir (PoK).

The CBI has registered a First Information Report (FIR) in this alleged scam. It said that a criminal conspiracy may have been initiated in year 2000 in which different lands were shown rented by the Indian army. These lands were actually situation in the PoK.

There might be an involvement of many army officers including several private persons in this scam.

In year 2000, a army board took around 122 kanals and 18 marlas under the occupation of the army which are situated in PoK. Under the attendance of sub divisional, defence estate officer R S Chanderwanshi and Patwari, Nowshera Darshan Kumar, the board took this decision.

The CBI has said that It has been learnt that as per ‘Jamabandhi’ register for the year 1969-70 of the land in question, Khasra no, it is under the occupation of Maqbooza Pakistan but rents are being paid by Defence Estate to the alleged owner.”
