Total Income scales up 8% at Rs. 8,384 crore
Mumbai, November .12.2014: Power Grid Corporation of India Limited (POWERGRID), a ‘Navratna’ Company and the ‘Central Transmission Utility (CTU)’ of the country, has posted a net profit of Rs. 2,338 crore for the first half of FY 2014-15 (April-September, 2014), an increase of 3% against Rs. 2,280crore reported during the corresponding half year ended September 30, 2013.
Total Income (turnover) for first half (April -September, 2014), rose to Rs.8,384 crore, up by 8% from Rs.7,738 crore in the corresponding year-ago period.
POWERGRID had registered a net profit of Rs. 4,497 crore on a turnover of Rs. 15,721 crore in the FY 2013-14 and had paid a total dividend of 25.8%.
At present, POWERGRID is operating about 111,740 ckt. kms. of transmission lines along with 186 Sub-stations and transformation capacity of about 218,000 MVA.
