Smart Fencing at India-Pakistan Border Soon

Smart Fencing at India-Pakistan border soon as Minister of State for Home Kiren Rijiju said that testing process is the final phase. He hoped that the comprehensive work of installation of the smart fence at the 3,323 km long India-Pakistan border .

It is believed that the newly technologically improved smart fencing will have a multi-tier security ring comprising an alarm to security force during the cases of infiltration.

Smart Fencing

Kiren Rijiju refused to give details about the fencing due to the security reasons however he said that the smart fencing has been successfully tested at may places. He also said that India must have smart fencing at all of its borders and India-Pakistan border is a priority for any such installation.

 The Indian governemnt is reportedly working on a Comprehensive Integrated Border Management System (CIBMS) which will be utilized for Indo-Pak and Indo-Bangladesh borders. This system will lead to a shift from regular border patrolling to quick reaction team pattern.

Four states of India have border connectivity with Pakistan, Jammu and Kashmir (1,225 km), Rajasthan (1,037 km), Punjab (553 km) and Gujarat (508 km). Line of Control at Jammu and Kashmir is 740 km long.
