When the Sri Lankans came to bat, the seeds for a victory were sown by Asela Gunaratn who scored an impressive 52 runs off just 37 balls. His innings included seven fours and his 60-run partnership with Milinda Siriwardana helped the Sri Lankan side to reach a stage where they needed just 18 runs to win from 17 balls.
