UP Deploys Ambulances For Cows

In a new, the Uttar Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Keshav Prasad Maurya launched Gauvansh Chikitsa Mobile Vans, an ambulance service to cater to cows.

The mobile vans will rescue ill or injured cows and transport them to nearest gau shala for the treatment from veterinary doctors.

The deputy CM also released a gau seva toll-free number for common people to inform the government about the ill or injured cows. He claimed that a veterinarian doctor will always be present in the mobile vans along with an assistant.

Mr. Maurya flagged off five ambulances from his official residence in Lucknow.

The Gauvansh Chikitsa Mobile Vans will be available in Lucknow, Gorakhpur, Varanasi, Mathura and Allahabad.
These mobile vans are run in collaboration with the MNREGA Mazdoor Kalyan Sanghathan, working for the development of the labourers and others employed in the informal sector.
The president of the organisation Mr. Rai claimed that his organisation will take legal actions against people who are abandoning their cows once they stop giving milk as well as against the municipality officials if cows are forced to eat polythene or plastic items dumped on the streets.

In 2015, 10 such cow ambulances were deployed in Khargone district of Madhya Pradesh to save cows.
