Panaji, June 30, 2015: Following a ‘Customer First’ approach, Vodafone India has invested over INR 73 crores on ramping up network and distribution and retail presence in Goa circle over the past 12 months (April 2014-March 2015). Being the preferred mobile services providers in terms of Subscriber base, Revenue Market Share and Retail touch points; Vodafone has been focusing on closer engagement and enhancing customer experience in an endeavour to be future ready.

Pursuing an accelerated growth strategy since April 2014, Vodafone has expanded its network footprint by adding over 170 new 3Gand 60 2G sites across Goa in the last financial year. Vodafone has its exclusive highest retail footprint in Goa with 5 Vodafone Stores and 10 Vodafone Mini Stores.

With this ramp up, Vodafone has further strengthened its position in Goa across relevant industry parameters – network coverage, subscriber base, retail footprint and revenue market share (RMS).

Having set up one of the largest networks in the circle, Vodafone now has 475 + 3G sites in Goa. Specifically to spread awareness and increase adoption of mobile internet, Vodafone has been hand holding customers through on ground engagement and education initiatives. 3G has shown tremendous uptake and has been growing at 100 % YoY. Overall Data contribution to circle service revenues is 18%.

With already one of the country’s largest exclusive retail footprint, Vodafone has continued to expand its reach to cover various parts of Goa. Presently, Vodafone has more than 15 retail outlets (largest and exclusive) in Goa. 

Recently in collaboration with the Department of Posts, Vodafone introduced bill payment facility through computerized post offices in Goa. Vodafone has taken the first mover initiative to introduce the pay through post office facility to make it simple, easy, secure and less time consuming for postpaid customers to make their bill payments.Post offices are spread across the state and through this partnership with the Department of Posts, Vodafone takes bill payment facility closer to home for customers living in the interiors of the state. The facility will particularly benefit Vodafone post-paid customers who presently do not have access to bill payment through other options such as online portals. More than 50 post offices are currently actively supporting bill payment.

Over and above its retail presence, catering to the needs of the net-savvy and evolved customers, Vodafone is driving digital simplicity by offering easy-to-use mobility solutions on its new, responsive website Vodafone’s pre-paid and post-paid customers can now access their accounts, manage mobile usage, pay bills, add or remove packs / services and recharge for themselves or others in just 30 seconds! Additionally,Vodafone also offers customers an opportunity to connect with the brand through a robust customer service call centre platform, the simple and convenient My Vodafone Mobile App and Vodafone Live Chat.

Besides multiple on-going schemes and customised tariff plans, some of the more notable introductions from Vodafone have been the launch of M-Pesa, a mobile banking and payment solution that has seen high affinity amongst migrant population in the state and Vodafone Angel Stores entirely staffed and run by women employees.

With a pan India distribution network of over 90,000 agents and with more than 3mn customers, M-Pesa is the largest banking business correspondent in the country. Vodafone M-Pesa was launched in October 2013 in Goa and currently has 450+ agents in Goa, and a customer base of over 4000 plus.
